AUSTIN, TX–(Marketwire – November 1, 2010) – Zenoss Inc., a leading provider of dynamic service assurance products for public, private and hybrid clouds, today announced that systems integrator and Zenoss partner Autonomic Resources has been awarded a contract to sell its infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud platform, or “ARC-P”, through the federal government’s cloud computing storefront, Apps.gov, Cloud BPA # GS00Q11AEA0003. As part of this award announced by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) on October 19, 2010, ARC-P includes IT operations monitoring and cloud service assurance through Zenoss Enterprise, enabling federal, state, local, and tribal governments to acquire cloud-based IaaS, cloud management, and service assurance offerings through one integrated stack.
“Autonomic Resources is pleased to offer the leading cloud management solution from Zenoss as part of our ARC-P cloud platform on Apps.gov,” said Cole Crawford, Autonomic Resources chief technology officer. “Cloud computing services from Autonomic Resources, combined with the dynamic cloud and IT management capabilities of Zenoss, provide interoperability and portability for federal agencies. Zenoss helps ARC-P enable these key features, setting ARC-P apart from other cloud providers.”
In addition to Zenoss’ IT operations monitoring and cloud service assurance solution, Autonomic Resources’ ARC-P cloud platform integrates technologies from leading vendors including Dell, Intel, Enomaly, Canonical, and more.
“We are pleased to provide the power of Zenoss cloud management with the Autonomic Resources Cloud-Platform infrastructure on Apps.gov to support government customers,” said Bill Karpovich, co-founder and CEO of Zenoss. “The need to make the world’s leading open source technologies available to government agencies has never been more apparent.”
GSA’s IaaS contract award allows vendors to provide government entities with cloud infrastructure and cloud management to support a continued expansion of governments’ IT capabilities into cloud computing environments. The new cloud infrastructure offerings available on Apps.gov will enable agencies to realize cost savings, efficiencies, and modernization without having to expend capital resources expanding their existing infrastructure. Without the IaaS award, true SaaS offerings (planned from Autonomic and Zenoss) on Apps.gov could not have been enabled for Apps.gov users. On Apps.gov, IaaS offerings will be provided with on-demand self-service procurement and rapid elasticity for real-time, customizable scaling of service, integrated management, and automatic provisioning of virtual machines, storage, and bandwidth.
