Alert Logic and Datapipe Release Fully Managed Advanced Network Security Solution for Amazon Web Services Customers

Partnership provides Amazon Web Services Customers Access to World Class Managed Services

(HOUSTON and JERSEY CITY, N.J. – September 21, 2011) – Alert Logic, the leader in delivering Security-as-a-Service for the cloud, today announced the limited availability of the first fully managed advanced network security solution in Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) environments, the world’s largest public cloud. The result of a joint development program with Datapipe, a leading provider of managed services and infrastructure for IT and cloud computing, Alert Logic’s managed network security solution for Amazon EC2 environments addresses the pressing challenge of network-based intrusion detection, a key requirement for PCI compliance.

Datapipe has an established, proven record of excellence in customer support and technology leadership in providing managed services in the Amazon EC2 environment.  Taking many of the lessons learned from working with Datapipe in their traditional hosting business, we were able to expand our Security-as-a-Service offering to address cloud environments,” said Gray Hall, CEO of Alert Logic.  “Building on our years of experience with service providers, Alert Logic was able to integrate quickly and easily into Datapipe’s portfolio of services, even in the fully managed Amazon environment.

Initially, Alert Logic’s managed network security solution for Amazon Web Services will be offered exclusively through Datapipe’s Managed Cloud offering.

Strong security controls are a requirement for many mission-critical IT workloads.  Customers demand that service providers address security as they move IT infrastructure to fully elastic public cloud environments,” said Joel Friedman, Chief Security Officer of Datapipe.  “Our partnership with Alert Logic provides a fully managed solution to ensure a high level of security in the cloud.”

Through the Datapipe Managed Cloud, Alert Logic’s fully managed intrusion detection solution supports elastic scale-out deployment and automated provisioning and dynamic network addressing. It fully integrates with Alert Logic’s Security Operations Center (SOC) services, which provide 24×7 monitoring and expert human guidance. These fully managed network security capabilities enhance Datapipe Managed Cloud’s all-inclusive suite of managed services featuring architecture and design, forklifting, 24x7x365 technician-based monitoring and management, patching and OS maintenance, auto-scaling and self-healing enablement, and change management.
