What Futuristic Transportation Will Look Like In Your Lifetime

By Cloud Syndicate

Futuristic Transportation

Being stuck in traffic or late for work because of a hold up on the dreaded commute could be a thing of the past from as soon as 2020.

It’s no secret that technology has been continuously evolving over the recent years, and this technology is going to be changing the way we travel too. Augmented reality (AR), trains that can drive at over 700 mph and planes with panoramic windows could be a normal aspect in our lives in just a matter of decades.

In just three years time, long car journeys are expected to be AR enabled; over 100 million cars will have the technology installed, allowing drivers and passengers to receive real-time updates and alerts about accidents and road delays. Drivers will also be alerted when food services and restaurants are close proximity to the vehicle – the ideal technology for a smooth-running road trip.

So, if that’s what we can expect from as soon as 2020, what can we expect from transport 20 or even 30 years into the future? Taking the focus off of the roads and into the sky, holidays and business trips abroad could be a lot different from what we’re currently used to.

In 2050, the miles between sky and land could feel non-existent; planes will have holographic communications so passengers can have real-time conversations with friends, family and colleagues whilst in flight, so say Adios to flight mode!

According to these predictions for transport in the future, the sky will no longer be the limit…space will. By 2050, an elevator to space could be in operation, guided by a 60,000 mile long cable that will stretch a quarter of the way to the moon.
