The VibeVPS Difference – Customer Security

Time, in the context of cloud technology, is much like dog years: a great deal can happen in a very short period, meaning that many cloud companies who bought in at the beginning of the cloud era stand to age themselves very quickly, through the use of dated technologies and inflated price points. This is a reality that the wizards at UK-based VibeVPS discovered as they started to build a better, yet less-expensive solution that they refer to as “true cloud.”

Working closely with Dell and OnApp, VibeVPS developed a cloud hosting service that combines the OnApp cloud management system with Dell enterprise hardware. Featuring high-end SSD/SAS storage and 10Gb networking throughout, the architecture is designed to optimize cloud scalability, performance and resilience.

“New developments and technologies arrive all the time,” says Peter Duggal, Managing Director of VibeVPS, “and we have found that with this system, our customers can spend less than ten pounds ($16 USD) per month and get performance and features that put expensive providers to shame.”

Some of the features that VibeVPS proudly stands behind include intuitive control over cloud resources, with self-healing and automatic failover, features that allow its customers to feel more confident about any surges or bumps in the road that can often affect performance, load time or security. It also is proud to be recognized as being the “greenest” data centre in the UK.

VibeVPS forms part of the Netscan Group, and leverages the strength and experience of this global powerhouse to partner with some of the most reliable and versatile organizations in the business. “We work with data centres that are exceedingly security minded,” says Lance Blackstone, a partner with VibeVPS, “Peer1, for example, is a state-of-the-art centre that uses biometric handscan access control and military-grade security to ensure that people, as well as data, are closely monitored 24/7.”

“The cloud is the reality of business today,” Blackstone continues, “and we have noticed, during the lifetime of VibeVPS, and before this, through the experience of the Netscan Group, that our client companies around the world continue to seek security and reliability, regardless whether they are using public, private or hybrid cloud systems. The interest lies in the supplier – that’s us – being able to stay up, available and secure, no matter what.”

Being headquartered in the UK, VibeVPS seeks to work with clients who wish to host in the UK, as well as for U.S. companies that wish to establish a European presence. Their location addresses an issue that its U.S. based competitors have a harder time with, specifically the restrictions and difficulties that can be encountered when working inside the Patriot Act. For clients who wish to host the data outside the confines of the Patriot Act, the VibeVPS platform is ideal.

Duggal points out that their location does not leave their clients isolated to only Northern Europe. Their CDN (Content Delivery Network) has over 50 locations around the world, which makes the issue of distance and speed of access redundant.

VibeVPS is an example of an agile and responsive player in the true cloud hosting business, one that combines environmental awareness with key strategic alliances with larger players, which their founders expect will allow them to grow, inexpensively and dynamically with the changing needs of clients the world over.
